Welcome to the Female Academics Network

With the Female Academics Network fan: we would like to promote the professorial careers of female scientists. To this end, our goal is to network professors at KIT with scientists at our national and international partners as well as our alumnae from research, teaching, and innovation in order to:

• show ways to a professorial career,
• to strengthen the visibility of female professors,
• to stimulate inspiration through role models,
• to strengthen each other through mentoring,
• to support the recruitment of female professors.

In this way, we make our contribution to cultural change at KIT towards more equal opportunities at the professorial level and shape the image of a contemporary professorship. The long-term goal is to also use the fan: as a recruitment platform and thus increase the proportion of female professors at KIT to 20 percent by 2030.

We also work closely with the members of the Women Professors Forum KIT (WPF) in many areas. The WPF was founded in 2021 by faculty women to emphasize the presence of women at the university, to support diversity and to promote a respectful working atmosphere and excellent research and teaching at KIT.
